City Departments: General Services Administration
The General Service Administrator reports directly to the City Manager. The General Services Department consists of Roads and Streets, Facility Services, Cemetery and the Solid Waste. The Administrator coordinates development activities, GIS Mapping, city reports, staff assistance and future developments for the City of Newberry. This department is responsible for the daily implementation of Roads and Streets, Facility Services, Cemetery and the Solid Waste. The General Service Superintendent coordinates the staff on daily activities and insures the safety and welfare within the City of Newberry.
Connie Goode has been employed by the City of Newberry for eight years as Administrative Assistant to the Fire Chief, Code Enforcement, Building Department and the Planning Department. Before coming to Newberry, Mrs. Goode worked as an Administrative Assistant for over twenty years.

The administrator Coordinates and supervises the efforts of the department. Builds and executes the department budget, work orders to the appropriate division within the department and authorizes all personnel actions. Meets with the public and personnel on a daily basis to minimize complaints and create a seamless operation within all divisions by providing leadership, administrating oversight, and regulatory enforcement. Streets and Roads Division

The Streets and Roads Division performs functions related to street right-of-way maintenance including paving, sidewalk and curb repair, traffic regulatory signage, street lighting, tree trimming, mowing, edging and roadway identification signs

Cemetery Division
Provides the maintenance and beautification of the City Cemetery along with the marking, identifying and maintaining the sites within the cemetery. The maintenance consists of the cutting and trimming of grass areas shrubs, trees and landscape material as well as the fertilizers, insecticides and herbicides that may be required.

Facilities Maintenance
Maintains all City Facilities and grounds. Assists community organizations in the preparation of community vents such as holiday festivities and City parades. Responsible for the security and general appearance of City facilities.

Fleet Maintenance
Responsible for the repair and maintenance of all City vehicles and equipment including the Fire Department Vehicles. This division strives to furnish all City vehicles with a comprehensive vehicle maintenance program in an effort to minimize down time and ensure safe road worthy transportation. Maintenance is performed at he city yard or by contract when necessary.

Inmate Program
The City established an agreement with the Florida Department of Corrections to provide inmate labor for the many projects throughout the City This program has been highly successful and has saved the City thousands of dollars in labor in addition to performing a variety of special projects
Special Taxing Unit Office
This office is responsible for establishing and tracking all project funding mechanisms such as: Community Development Districts, Municipal Services Taxing Unit, Municipal Services, Bonding Unit, and Special Districts
